QuickSpot Terms, Conditions, Consent and POPIA
By submitting this request and completing payment, I confirm the following:

1. Diagnosis Consent

a. I confirm that the information and images I have submitted are accurate.
b. I consent to their use in diagnosing my condition, by a qualified and registered Dermatologist.
c. If a diagnosis cannot be made, the doctor may consult a third party for further medical input.
d. My personal identity and details will not be shared.

2. Purpose of Service

a. QuickSpot is a remote dermatology screening service designed to assess a single skin concern, such as a spot, rash, or acne.

b. QuickSpot is not a fast track to secure a full in-person consultation. It is intended to triage and address one specific concern that may require attention. If the condition appears urgent, an expedited appointment may be offered. Non-urgent matters will be scheduled based on regular availability.

By using the service, I acknowledge and agree that a diagnosis may not be possible, or I may be asked to come in for a consultation in order for further screening and testing to be performed.  I understand that the fees payable in respect of the Service will be charged regardless of whether a successful diagnosis is made and no refunds will be paid in the event that a successful diagnosis is not possible.

3. Information Provided

I am submitting photographs and a brief medical history. The advice I receive will be based solely on the information and images I provide.

I understand that it is important that I provide an accurate medical history, as this may have a significant impact on the ability to provide an accurate diagnosis.

4. Scope of Service

Note – QuickSpot is not a full dermatology consultation.
It does not replace a complete skin examination or an in person visit when required.
Only one area or condition will be assessed per submission.
This diagnosis is based entirely on the submitted material, and without an in-person examination, accuracy may be limited.

5. In Person Follow-Up

a. If a clear diagnosis cannot be made remotely, I may be advised to attend an in person consultation.
b. Some conditions may require a physical examination or a procedure to be treated correctly.
c. I will be informed of any additional costs in advance and may choose not to proceed with the consultation or procedure.
d. If I am required to attend a full consultation, the QuickSpot fee will be deducted from the cost of the consultation.
e. Procedure charges are billed separately and are not covered by the QuickSpot fee.

6. Image and Information Quality

a. If the photographs or information I provide are unclear or incomplete, the doctor may ask me to resubmit before a diagnosis is given.
b. The doctor cannot be held liable if a condition changes or progresses between submission and review.
c. QuickSpot is a paid screening and review service. No refunds will be issued once a submission has been reviewed, including in cases where:

  • The outcome is advice to attend an in person consultation.
  • The condition has changed or resolved before review.
  • A resubmission is required due to poor image quality or missing details.

7. Emergency Situations

QuickSpot is not suitable for urgent or life-threatening skin conditions.
It is intended for routine concerns such as acne, rashes, or individual lesions.
If I experience a serious or fast-changing condition — for example, a rapidly growing lesion, severe allergic reaction, or signs of infection — I will seek immediate in person care and will not wait for a QuickSpot response.

8. Limits of Liability

The dermatologist cannot be held liable for any delayed, missed, or incorrect diagnosis resulting from:

  • Incomplete or unclear information,
  • Poor image quality,
  • Changes in the condition after submission.

9. Use of Data and POPIA

I consent to the use of the information and photographs submitted by me for the purposes set out in these terms and conditions.  I acknowledge that all reasonable technical and organisational measures (including, for example, encryption of my data and the use of up to date authentication measures) will be taken to keep such information secure and confidential and that I will be informed in the event of a suspected breach of security or confidentiality.

I understand that the information I submit may also be used to improve dermatological care, medical research, and diagnostic tools.

My personal identity will be removed, and any use of my information will comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act and the guidelines of the Health Professions Council of South Africa.

10. Response Time

QuickSpot aims to provide a response within 48 working hours.
This timeframe is not guaranteed and depends on submission volume, weekends, holidays, and technical delays.
This service is not suitable for urgent concerns.
